To protect your glasses, we offer the following tips for cleaning frames and lenses:
- Rinse your lenses thoroughly with water before cleaning.
- Apply lotion-free soap or lens cleaning solution to lenses, rub gently to release debris, then rinse with water when using the lotion-free soap. No need to rinse with water when using the lens cleaning solution.
- Make sure eyewear is completely dry by using a dry, clean, soft cotton cloth.
- The microfiber cloth such as the one provided by SVE should be used to remove light smudges or fingerprints only.
- DO NOT clean your lenses while dry, or use materials such as a shirt or rough paper towels. Improper cleaning will eventually scratch your lenses.
Eyeglasses gradually change alignment as you handle them. Please feel free to return to our office for adjustments or repairs anytime. We would love to see you and will be happy to adjust or repair your glasses ordered from our office. An additional fee may apply for maintenance on glasses purchased outside of our office.
Our frames come with a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty against manufacturer defects. If the frame purchased has a defect due to manufacturer’s error, we will repair or replace the frame within 1 year of the original date of purchase. If the same color has been discontinued, we will replace your frame with any available color of the same model. Frames are not designed to be stepped on, sat on, slept in, dropped, eaten by your dog, etc. Your frames may not hold up to this kind of abuse and would not be covered under the manufacturer warranty. Our warranties do not cover loss or theft.
Prescription eyewear is custom made for each patient. Therefore, we do not offer refunds on custom eyewear. However, we can help you make reasonable exchanges. Please contact the office to determine your available options, if any. Exchanges can only be made within 30 days. The 30-day time frame starts once the order is received and available for pick up at our office. Non-prescription eyewear can’t be exchanged or refunded.
Any irreversible modifications to the frame will void the above mentioned 1- year manufacturer’s warranty; including but not limited to super glue, adding third party nose pads, painting frame, etc. If you have any doubts or questions, please call us before making any modifications.
We offer a 1-time 2-year scratch warranty against lenses that have been purchased with a premium anti-reflective coating. Scratch resistant lenses are not scratch proof (there are no such lenses currently available). Scratch resistant treatments like those found in our premium anti- reflective coatings are designed to decrease light surface scratches. Scratch resistant treatments will not prevent deep scratches that may occur.
For some prescription sunglasses (Maui Jim, Oakley, and RayBan) the scratch warranty may differ from the warranty listed above. Enchroma prescription lenses do not offer any scratch warranty coverage. For non-prescription sunglasses the warranty covers the frame against manufacturer defects only, there is no lens warranty.
If you have any visual issues with your new glasses, please come in immediately or within 30 days from your date of purchase to visit with one of our opticians. The optician will determine if you need to schedule a visit with your doctor to adjust or re-check your prescription. Prescription re- checks are covered within 90 days of your annual exam date.
