DR. RAYMOND CHIN, OD, FAAO, FSLS

About Dr. Chin

Dr. Raymond Chin graduated Phi Beta Kappa with an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of California, Davis. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Since joining SVE in 2001, Dr. Chin has a particular interest in contact lens fittings of various designs including multifocal lenses for presbyopia, toric lenses for astigmatism, and corneal refractive therapy. Dr. Chin has been successfully utilizing contact lenses in myopia control for many years.

Awards & Recognitions

Dr. Chin is an active member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), the California Optometric Association (COA), and the Santa Clara County Optometric Society (SCCOS). He previously held a position on the SCCOS Board of Trustees. Dr. Chin was given the 2006 Young OD of the Year award for his efforts in advancing the optometric profession in Silicon Valley. Dr. Chin is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and Scleral Lens Education Society. The designation of Fellow indicates that the practitioner has met the high standards of professional competence in a broad range of issues related to eyecare, including scleral lens fitting.

Activities & Involvement

Dr. Chin and his wife enjoy spending time with their active, young daughter and son. When possible, Dr. Chin also enjoys playing tennis.
