DR. MICHAEL CHEN, OD

About Dr. Chen

Dr. Michael Chen graduated from UC Berkeley School of Optometry in 2014. He completed his clinical rotations at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Palo Alto, Kaiser Roseville Medical Center, and Vandenberg Air Force Base, and has been providing excellent vision care at Silicon Valley Eyecare since 2014.

When not seeing patients at SVE, Dr. Chen works in clinical research, focusing on retinal diseases and glaucoma, developing new diagnostic and therapeutic technologies for doctors to better manage these eye diseases.

Dr. Chen is an active member of the California Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He is also a member of the Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the largest eye and vision research organization in the world. Dr. Chen is certified in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease, Glaucoma Certified, and certified in Paragon CRT. Dr. Chen believes that good communication is essential for good healthcare, and is always available via email or phone to answer any of your questions. Having grown up in Taiwan, Dr. Chen speaks fluent Mandarin in addition to English.

Activities and Involvement

When not involved with optometry, Dr. Chen spends his time playing and recording music, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.
