Dr. Gurkarn Ghag, OD

About Dr. Ghag

Dr. Gurkarn Ghag grew up in the Bay Area attending San Francisco State University graduating with a bachelor's in biology. She then attended Western University of Health Sciences and received her Doctorate of Optometry. Upon graduating, she moved across the country to New Jersey to complete a residency training in primary care optometry with emphasis in ocular disease and low vision rehabilitation at the New Jersey Veterans Affairs Healthcare System. During her residency training, Dr. Ghag also was involved in clinical teaching of optometry students. Dr. Ghag recently moved back to the Bay Area in the fall of 2023 before joining Silicon Valley Eye Care and is excited to be part of the team.

Awards and Recognition

Dr. Ghag is an active member of the American Optometric Association (AOA). She is glaucoma/TPA certified optometrist and is trained in the diagnosis, treatment and management of ocular diseases. Through her residency training Dr. Ghag also is certified in treating low vision patients. Dr. Ghag has presented posters at optometric conferences and lectured on topics related to ocular disease.

Activities & Involvement

Dr. Ghag in her free time enjoys reading, her collection of books is rapidly growing! She also enjoys spending time with friends and family.
