To my valued patients,

It is with mixed emotions that I am announcing my departure from Silicon Valley Eyecare in June 2023. I am excited to move with my family to Portland, Oregon to open my own optometry practice.

I have had the privilege of being a part of Silicon Valley Eyecare for 30 years, as my mom, Dr. Deborah McBride, was a partner in the practice for many years. The day I was born, we stopped by the office on the way home from the hospital – so this technically was my first home! At 8 years old, I was helping mail letters for patients. I spent a long summer when I was 16 scanning in paper records as the office transitioned from paper to computer record keeping. I had the opportunity to work as an optometric assistant while in undergrad at Santa Clara University. After I graduated from UC Berkeley School of Optometry, I worked as an optician while I was getting licensed as an optometrist.

This summer marks 5 years I have worked as an optometrist alongside the other excellent doctors here at Silicon Valley Eyecare. Over this time, I met the most amazing patients who made me a part of their life journeys. I would sincerely like to thank each of you who I have come to know so well, and who always trusted me with your eyecare. Needless to say, this was my second home and it was a difficult decision to leave the area.

Please know that your eyecare is in great hands here with Drs. Lou Ann Alexander, Raymond Chin, Michael Chen, Jackie Lim, and Azinda Morrow. Your annual eye exam will be shifted to another doctor automatically, and you can call any time to specify which provider you would like to see. Your medical data will remain with Silicon Valley Eyecare as I move on so the doctors will be able to seamlessly continue your care.. You can access your records and obtain copies by calling our office.

Some of you may want to see or speak to me, and you can reach out to me while I am still here. I will be seeing patients as normal until I leave, so if you would like to schedule an appointment with me, please reach out soon.

I want to thank you for the privilege of caring for you and your family. Your trust and friendship are truly appreciated. I am confident that Silicon Valley Eyecare will continue offering you outstanding care and treatment. I will still be working hard to provide quality eye care in the Portland area, and please reach out if you are ever in that area.
